Hull
The Port of Hull on the north bank of the Humber Estuary is just 20 miles from the North Sea. The port is connected by dual carriageway road links to the M62 and then M18, and M1, to service the whole of the British Isles. It is also connected into the inland waterways system.
ABP Humber is working with Siemens on the £310m Green Port Hull development, a wind turbine blade manufacturing, assembly and servicing facility on the Alexandra Dock.
As well as containers, ferry travel and roro, Hull specialises in handling forest products and a range of bulk commodities, while BP has a strong presence in the chemical market. Hull is also home to the UK's first fully-enclosed cargo-handling facility for weather-sensitive cargoes such as steel.
