DfT - Department for Transport
DEFRA and the Department for Transport work in close conjuction with ABP in the consent/licensing process for tidal works (including dredging). The Marine Consents and Environment Unit provides a central facility for the receipt and administration on behalf of both the DfT and DEFRA of applications to undertake works in tidal waters and at sea, including marine developments, offshore energy, coastal defences, dredging and waste disposal.
Natural England
Natural England is the government agency that champions the conservation of wildlife and geology throughout England. It does so by working in partnership with individuals and a wide range of organisations including government representative bodies, agencies and voluntary organisations.
